Founded in 1751, the Manufacture Royale d’Aubusson is part of French industrial history as one of the manufacturers recognized by royal authority to structure and develop national craftsmanship. Initially known for its Savonnerie carpets, it gradually specialized in the production of carpets, stair runners, and high-end custom-made flooring.

Today, Ateliers Pinton continues this heritage as the last French manufacturer to use the so-called “Wilton” technique. Originating from traditional craftsmanship and enriched by the contribution of weavers who came from England after the era of the Edict of Nantes, this method has evolved to meet modern requirements while preserving its artisanal foundations.

The manufacturer now supplies major players in the luxury hospitality sector, as well as the aerospace, railway, and maritime industries, in addition to prestigious institutions. These markets impose high standards in terms of quality, compliance, and safety, where reliable industrial steam solutions play a key role.

An outdated steam installation

An outdated steam installation

In this demanding context, the site was faced with a major technical issue: a firetube boiler that had become unsuitable and presented risks. This situation directly impacted steam production, which is essential in the manufacturing process.

The latexing line, essential to the finalization of the products, was particularly affected. Difficulties in ensuring stable operating conditions put pressure on production continuity and the expected quality.

Implementation of a suitable steam solution

To secure operations, a CLAYTON CSMG 30 steam generator was installed, combined with a water treatment skid. This configuration ensures both reliable steam production and strict control of water quality, a key factor for the overall performance of the installation.

The choice of this solution is based on characteristics suited to the site’s industrial constraints: ease of use, fast start-up, and a high level of safety.

The equipment replacement was completed within a short timeframe, in line with the defined schedule, enabling a rapid return to operation.

Training and team adoption

During commissioning, operators received support from a Clayton specialist. This training covered both the operation of the steam generator and best practices related to water treatment.

This step ensures proper use of the installation, taking into account performance, safety, and sustainability.

Operational benefits observed

The commissioning of the Clayton CSMG 30 steam generator now ensures a continuous supply to the latexing line, contributing to the consistency of finishing operations. In addition to the observed energy savings, the fast start-up of this new equipment provides greater flexibility and improves customer service levels.

Operators highlight a tangible improvement in operating conditions:
« It changes everything. »

Mr. Ludovic Auchet, site director, states:

This perfectly meets our needs. The implementation of the Clayton generator is the first step in a series of upcoming investments for Ateliers Pinton.
