Energy efficiency and CO₂ reduction with Clayton steam solutions

Reducing CO₂ emissions is one of the major challenges for the industry. Clayton steam generators and electric steam solutions contribute significantly thanks to their high efficiency and low emissions.

Higher efficiency and lower emissions with fired boilers

Clayton steam generators achieve efficiencies of up to 97% in real-world use, while conventional boilers often remain around 80–85%. This means up to 15% less fuel is required to produce the same amount of steam. As burning 1 m³ of natural gas emits around 1.9 kg of CO₂, a company consuming 1 million m³ annually can save over 285 tons of CO₂ per year.

Additionally, Clayton generators have virtually no standby losses. Traditional boilers lose 5–10% of their energy during hot standby due to heat dissipation. In contrast, Clayton units only consume energy when steam is actually needed, making them ideal for processes with variable demand or frequent shutdowns.

CO₂-free steam generation with electric units

Our electric steam generators are completely emission-free at the point of use. When powered by green electricity, steam production becomes 100% CO₂-free. For an average consumption of 1 ton of steam per hour, this represents about 150 kg of avoided CO₂ emissions per hour (compared to gas-fired steam production).

Sustainable manufacturing with solar energy

We are also taking steps to reduce our own CO₂ footprint. Our production site is equipped with solar panels that cover a significant portion of our electricity needs. As a result, we can reduce grid consumption by up to 100% at various times.
